A Casa da Lavand’eira” was an 18th-century Douro Valley manor, a farmhouse located in northern Portugal, in the lands of Baião, on the banks of the Ovil River. This farmhouse has been transformed into a tourist complex (new program).

This rural estate encompasses a variety of natural and constructed environments that can be experienced, where architecture and nature seamlessly integrate in complete harmony.

Founded on sustainable intervention, the main granite house complements the chapel, living rooms, the hall, and the traditional kitchen (with a fireplace) that characterizes the structure. This restored building maintains its essence.

Simultaneously, other structures complement the landscape of the estate. Pre-existing buildings have been restored, preserving their essence, while new constructions are scattered across the natural surroundings. These recreational buildings, wooden cells, become part of the territory, connecting with the natural environment.

The wooden Branas (sustainable construction), with their defined curves, offer the opportunity to experience different atmospheres through the relationship between the interior and exterior of the structure, surrounded by nature.
