Noble House
The project had to undergo approval from the Regional Directorate of Culture of Alentejo, as it is located in a protected area designated by the Municipal Master Plan (PDM) as the historic center of Évora.
The building, formerly known as “Pensão Policarpo,” underwent various interventions and alterations over time, deviating from its original layout due to utilitarian needs and changing uses. The current owners purchased the property.
The proposal aimed to adapt the building to function as a 4-star hotel with 24 rooms, focusing on preserving and enhancing the heritage that the building represents. Changes were made to the interior and some exterior openings to restore the authenticity of the facades. Conservation works included repairs, cleaning, and reinforcement of thermal and acoustic insulation conditions of the existing window frames.
The architecture and interior design completed the transformation.
