Atelier

ABOUT US

In 2002, the “Atelier de Arquitectura” was founded, founded by Fernando Coelho and Ana Loureiro. The studio eventually evolved into FCC Arquitectura, a company based in Felgueiras, Portugal.

The beginning was developed with works of small scale, some projects of single-family housing and others of religious typology, usually for local clients.

The industrial, commercial and hospitality sector was also of great importance in the growth of the studio, when several projects were developed in this range, thus increasing the options and typologies addressed by the studio.

Over the years, the interventions were also dispersing geographically. Currently, the studio has works all over the country, with some islands included.

In 2016 the atelier won a major architectural award for the 2016 “Building of the Year” by ArchDaily, which was widely publicized in the world press with the Cellabar project on Pico Island. More prizes followed, still in 2016, such as the case of Monverde, which won the “Best of Wine Tourism”.

The concept of working in the studio stays the same from the beginning, responding to the needs of the client, valuing the context of the place while creating a sustainable and timeless architecture within the vision that we have for the future.
