For the extensive area of Quinta Marques Gomes, a development was planned where the first residences are now beginning to emerge. The decision was made to intervene in the mansion on the estate, built in the early 20th century, and repurpose it as the sales office for the development.

Strategically located near the mouth of the Douro River, offering views of the sea and the river estuary, the meticulously constructed mansion had been abandoned for years, serving as a canvas for graffiti, subject to looting, and was in an advanced state of degradation. 

A restrained and sculptural intervention was chosen: structurally consolidating the building using elements that touch only specific points on the existing walls, allowing them to easily detach if needed.

A dramatically conceived space was invented to temporarily serve as the sales office, also acting as a showcase for the development. The intervention ensured that the essence of the construction was preserved, leaving room for potential future interventions.
